G20: Major Economic Indicators

The G20 is a group is a group of finance ministers and central bank governors from 19 countries and the EU. The heads of governments or states also periodically met at summits since they started in 2008. Originally the summits have been biannual but starting 2011 they will be annual.

The G20 membership is not directly based on economic factors, notably Spain which has the 9th largest GDP is not a member, but also on population and geographic location. The G20 economies compromises roughly 85% of global GNP, 80% of world trade and 66% of the world population.

The G20 will replace G8 as the main economic economic council for wealthy nations.

EU data is from the Eurostat. Best efforts have been made to find equivalent data however it may not be comparable to the World Bank data used for the other G20 countries.
